Innomar and Norbit had the pleasure to demonstrate the Innomar sixpack multi-transducer parametric sub-bottom profiler in Portland/Oregon on the Columbia River. The multi-transducer solution allows for acquisition of dense data sets in shallow waters to be used in 3D sub-seabed visualization. During this demonstration project two buried pipelines were surveyed with a few parallel lines inside a 10 m wide corridor along the pipelines. Burial depth was between one and three meters below riverbed. Data acquisition for one pipeline over a length of c. 500 m did not require more than an hour of survey time. After another hour of processing during the return transit to the marina a full 3D representation of the buried pipelines was already available. This multi-transducer approach demonstrates an efficient way of collecting and visualizing buried assets and other sub-bottom features with high spatial resolution in three dimensions.
